Keeping Kiltullagh-Killimordaly’s Past Alive in New Book

As part of our “Pastimes from the Past: Keeping Our Heritage Alive” project, Kiltullagh Killimordaly Heritage Society have been busy over the last few weeks delving into newspaper archives, reading through the Double K Echo newsletters, and talking to people in our community.

As a direct result of this work, they are delighted and proud to say that they now have a 120-page book documenting the clubs, pastimes and community events of Kiltullagh Killimordaly that are sadly no longer active today. Kiltullagh Killimordaly Heritage Society are truly “Keeping Our Heritage Alive”!

A limited number of complimentary books will be available on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August as part of our weekend of events.

The book will be officially launched on Saturday 22nd August, at the beginning of our series of talks. The event will be opened by Kieran Jordan at 2pm, followed by remarks from Marie Mannion, Heritage Officer, Galway County Council, before our talks get underway.

Kiltullagh Killimordaly Heritage Society would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone who shared their memories, photographs, information and stories with us. Your contributions have helped make this book possible and will also form part of the information and displays being presented over the weekend.
