Kiltullagh Killimordaly Heritage Society

Formed in July 2024, Kiltullagh Killimordaly Heritage Society (KKHS) aims to promote awareness, appreciation, and participation in local heritage through events and publications.

For Heritage Week 2024, the group held a guided Walk & Talk around Kiltullagh village, exploring its historical ‘routes and roots’. A display of primary sources, including census records, maps, and photographs, was presented at Kiltullagh Hall. KKHS also produced a booklet titled Exploring the Built Heritage of Kiltullagh Village, with printed copies available on the day.

Our 2025 Heritage Week event, D’Arcy 300, was a special weekend commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of Patrick D’Arcy, who was born at Kiltulla House on 27 September 1725. KKHS produced a D’Arcy 300 commemorative booklet to mark the occasion.

KKHS also organised a series of talks and workshops throughout 2025 and 2026.

As part of National Heritage Week 2026, with its theme “Heritage at Risk”, KKHS launched their book “Pastimes from the Past: Keeping Our Heritage Alive”, remembering the clubs, pastimes and community events of Kiltullagh-Killimordaly. We also held talks on Saturday, 22 August and an exhibition on Saturday, 22 August & Sunday, 23 August, bringing together memories, stories and recollections of the people, activities and traditions that have played a part in bringing our community together.
