Killimordaly Kiltulla Foroige youth club need volunteers

killimordalykiltullaforoigeyouthclub40 young people from the Killimordaly Kiltullagh community registered to become members of the Killimordaly Kiltulla Foróige Youth Club on Thursday, 8th September, in Killimordaly Hall.

These 12 to 18 year olds urgently need adult volunteer leaders to make it possible for these young people to socialise safely, try new things, develop their confidence and self reliance, get involved in the community and have lots of fun.

Are you aged over 18? Are you living in the Killimordaly Kiltullagh area? Would you like to give something back to the community? If so then your local Foróige club need your help.

If you can spare an hour and a half, Friday nights, 8pm to 9.30pm to help lead with other adult volunteers (the more volunteers the less commitment required and may be as little as one Friday per month), please contact 087 3332582.

2016 was a busy and very successful year for Killimordaly Kiltulla Foróige Youth Club. In March of this year Killimordaly Kiltulla Foróige Club walked away with three awards at the annual Foróige Drama Competition held in Ballymacward. Awards included Best Original Script, Best Overall Production and Best Actress.

Cormac Morgan took 2nd in the Castlegar Foroige Photography Competition.

In July Killimordaly Kiltulla Foróige won the National Citizenship Challenge 2016. The Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards, in partnership with Aldi, recognises those who help to make the world a better place. Killimordaly Kiltulla Foróige Club project centred around an awareness and fundraising campaign for defibrillators in the local area.

14 year old Jessica Whyte has being baking up a treat, taking 1st place in the regional and Connaught Junior Baking Competition, with this year’s theme ‘Muffins of the Moment’. Jessica will not only represent her club but the whole Western Region as one of eight finalists of the 2016 National Junior Baking Competition, at the National Ploughing Championships, 22-24 September.
