Kiltullagh Pioneers played host to Renmore on Saturday, 21st February, in the quarter final of the U12 Shield. An unbelievable game of soccer was played in Castlepark as Kiltullagh advanced to the Semi Final of the U12 Shield. Final score: Kiltullagh 3 – Renmore 1
“In a game where everything good about team sports was on display today, courage, commitment, a never say die attitude, and honest team work backing one another up”, said a Kiltullagh Pioneers FC spokesperson.
Kiltullagh went 1 down after ten minutes to a Renmore side who play in Div 1 of the Galway leagues. However, Kiltullagh equalized in the second half. The game went to extra time, and Kiltullagh scored in both half’s of the extra time to get the win.
“A squad of 14 represented Kiltullagh, and the brand of football played was a joy to watch. For the record Adam Johnson, Dean Kane and Lewis Dolan scored, but no one could be singled out today as they were all brilliant”.
